Chimney stacks take more punishment than almost any other part of a building. They sit exposed above the roofline, soaking up rain, frost, and wind year-round. A chimney rebuild starts with erecting a working platform — either a full scaffold or a chimney scaffold bracket — to give safe access to the stack. We take the stack down to below the roof level, or to a sound course of brickwork if only the upper section has failed. New brickwork is laid using a mortar mix appropriate for exposed chimney work, and we repoint the joints to a weathered profile that sheds water effectively. The pot is re-bedded in fresh flaunching, and new lead flashings are dressed into the surrounding tiles and pointed into the masonry. We can source bricks closely matched to your existing stock to keep the appearance consistent.

A leaning chimney stack is a safety hazard — sections of brickwork falling from height are a genuine risk to people and property below. Leaving a failing stack unattended also allows water to track down into the chimney breast inside the house, which can cause significant plaster and ceiling damage over time.
